Kathleen Kelly has recently joined our firm to continue her real estate and estates practice that she developed over 6 years with Kelly Santini LLP. Douglas Noble was born, raised, and educated in Southern Ontario. After high school, he spent four years at the University of Waterloo studying mathematics and learning about computers. After obtaining his undergraduate degree he attended Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in Toronto, graduating in 1974. He articled with a law firm on Bay Street in Toronto and decided that was not the life for him. He moved to Ottawa shortly after his call to the bar in 1976 and has practised in Bells Corners ever since.
He has lectured at community colleges, seniors’ organizations, and church organizations on subjects related to wills, powers of attorney, substitute decisions, decision matters, and marriage preparation.
When not working, his favourite pastimes include raising his daughters, curling, puttering about in the garden, and sailing.
Douglas Gadient was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa along the banks of the Mississippi River. He received his undergraduate degree at the College of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In 1975 he moved to Ottawa to marry a French Canadian girl he had met travelling in Europe. Doug attended the University of Ottawa Law School and achieved his law degree in 1978. He articled at a firm in Ottawa and was called to the bar in 1980.
Doug Gadient has been active in various community organizations including the Appropriate Home Energy Co-operative, Carlingwood Action Committee and Frank Ryan Little League Association. He has 3 children; two sons, attending Queen’s University and the University of Western Ontario respectively, and a daughter attending De La Salle High School in Ottawa.
Kathleen Kelly has over ten years of experience in private legal practice with Gowling Lafleur Henderson practicing litigation and Kelly Santini LLP in Ottawa where she developed a solicitors practice prior to joining Noble Gadient Kelly. She specializes in residential real estate, estate planning and estate administration.
Kathleen obtained her common law degree from the University of Ottawa and was called to the Bar of the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2006. She graduated from Queen’s University in 2001 with a B.A.H. degree in International Development and Philosophy. During her undergraduate studies she completed an internship in Kathmandu, Nepal where she studied school-aged girls’ access to education in remote areas of the country and worked with NGOs in the region to improve such access. These days, when not in the office, she can be found at the park with her two young children or teaching them to ski, having raced internationally for many years in her teens.
